Alexis Disselkoen

Alexis Disselkoen is a native Angelino born to parents of Mexican and Anglo descent. She explores notions of race, ethnicity, and belonging, and the effects these ideas have on bodies. Using objects as vehicles for interaction, Disselkoen proposes social encounters and spaces for negotiation that are participatory, yet directed by the people that are involved. She strives to blur the line between performer and audience. She has exhibited at LACE, the UCLA Wight Biennial, Human Resources, Las Cienegas Projects, Track 16 and Perform! Now!
