Katie Loughmiller

Katie Loughmiller is a writer, artist, and educator, originally from Boston and now lives in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. She graduated summa cum laude from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University and is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts degree in the Public Practice program at Otis College of Art & Design, where she is studying advanced skills for artists working in the public sphere. She worked as the Coalition Director and managed national events with ServiceNation, a campaign of the nonprofit organization, Be the Change, Inc. Loughmiller has taught theatre and video classes to teenagers in settings such as Boston’s Urbano Project, a free arts and performance program for urban teens, and in an after-school drama workshop in a high school in South Africa. Loughmiller currently mentors and assistant teaches a course in the undergraduate Creative Action & Integrated Learning department at Otis College of Art & Design.
