Toomai String Quintet

They will be playing a movement of James Tenney’s “Quintext: Five Textures for String Quartet and Bass”, Scott Cazan’s “Outliers”, and a movement from Vincent Raikhel’s “The Garden of Forked Paths”

The Toomai String Quintet is an ensemble devoted to expanding the bass quintet repertoire through collaborations, commissions, and original arrangements. The quintet has appeared in venues such as the 92nd St. Y, Lincoln Center, and The Kitchen and has recorded for Tzadik Records. They also perform frequently in public schools, hospitals, and alternative care facilities throughout the New York City area as part of the current roster for Carnegie Hall’s “Musical Connections” program.
